The Partnership for Higher Education in Africa (PHEA) was a joint project of Carnegie Corporation of New York, The Ford Foundation, the John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation, the Rockefeller Foundation, the William and Flora Hewlett Foundation, the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation, and the Kresge Foundation. PHEA represents both a belief in the importance and viability of higher education in Africa and a mechanism to provide meaningful assistance to its renaissance.

This website contains information about the Partnership, a searchable database of Partnership grants, publications sponsored by the Partnership, a searchable Africa Regional Networks database, and links to other sites that we hope you will find useful. Please note the coordinating office closed on 31 January 2010. Henceforth all inquiries should be directed to the individual foundations.
