I am currently the Secretary-General of the Association of African Universites in Accra,Ghana. I was Vice-Chancellor of the University of Mauritius from 1995-2005. From 2004-2008 I was President of the Association of International niversities which has its secretariat at UNESCO, Paris. I am presently a member of the governing Council of the United Nations University which is headquarterd in Tokyo,Japan.
