Born in 1954 in Tabora, Western Tanzania. A holder Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Riga Civil Aviation Engineers Institute, Latvia (1986) and Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Dar es Salaam, Tanzania (1996). The Ph.D. was a sandwich programme between the University of Dar es Salaam, University of Surrey, UK and Perkins Engines Technology, UK. Most of the Ph.D. research work, which was on the development of a method for the design and analysis of Internal Combustion engines was conducted at Perkins Technology, UK. Worked as aicraft engineer with the Tanzania Government Aircraft Division (1986-1987), Lecturer in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Dar es Salaam (1987 todate) and Vice Chancellor of Ardhi University, Tanzania from September 2007 todate.
