Biographical Sketch: Rwekaza MUKANDALA

Dr. Rwekaza Mukandala is Professor of Political Science and Public Administration, and Vice-Chancellor of the University of Dar es Salaam. He attended the universities of Dar es Salaam and California, Berkeley, and has been working at the University of Dar es Salaam since 1977. Before his appointment to the position of Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Mukandala had been head of department, faculty dean and Director of Research and Publications at the University. He has also held numerous concurrent positions at the University, including the Chairperson of the National Examinations Council of Tanzania, the Tanzania Committee of Vice Chancellors and Principals, Tanzania Election Monitoring Committee, and Research and Education for Democracy in Tanzania (REDET). Prof Mukandala has co-published and co-edited over 15 books and authored numerous articles and book chapters.
